Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological distress through specific techniques that are scientifically validated to help people improve their symptoms, increase quality of life, and cope more effectively with stressors. Research shows that the most effective therapies include common ingredients - a strong alliance between therapist and patient which allows them to work collaboratively in an environment of genuineness and empathy.

The specific theoretical frameworks and therapeutic techniques used to treat individuals, however, will differ between therapists and for different presenting concerns. It is important to find the right "fit" in both the provider and treatment. My clinical work is guided by empirical evidence for psychological interventions to suit the needs, goals, and readiness of each patient. I am an experienced cognitive and behavioral therapist. Grounding myself in this theory allows me to treat a wide variety of conditions.
